The season saw The Hills record their second ever Cup win, a victory made the more sweet by the Final being played on their own ground at Milverton. This is a ground that has had a very considerable amount of work done on it, with the new pavilion a testimony to the commitment of the members to the club. On the big day everything ran like clockwork and there was nothing but praise for the Club. The only ones disappointed were the players and supporters of Pembroke. Pembroke started well, having lost the toss and having The Hills 108 for six shortly after lunch, they must have felt their chances for victory were good. However, The Hills lower order battled on and reached 200 for nine with the last wicket adding 23 undefeated.
The Pembroke innings started well and they were 49 for one approaching tea. Then Matt Dwyer dismissed Trevor Dagg with the aid of an excellent catch by Declan Moore. Richard Hastie followed almost immediately and suddenly Pembroke were 52 for three. They never recovered from this double blow and declined to 109 for nine, losing six wickets for 60, before a breezy last wicket partnership brought them to 140. Matt Dwyer, scoring 23 runs and taking three for 11 in twelve overs, was a popular winner of the Man of the Match award.
