Denmark
Morten Hedegaard
Captain
Nykøbing Mors
RHB, RFM
Spent the last couple of years with Herning where he and his brother nearly earned Herning its first championship. Has now returned to Nykøbing Mors.
Søren Vestergaard
Svanholm
Vice-captain. Was with Warwickshire but gave up due to injury problems. A fine allrounder, potent with the bat and deadly as a medium fast seamer. Has won several matches for Denmark.
Frederik Klokker
Skanderborg
LHB, Wicketkeeper. He has proved himself recently by spending time in Australia and this year has earned himself a contract with the MCC ground-staff.
Lars Hedegaard
Nykøbing Mors
First change bowler and middle order batsman. Strikes the ball very hard and has been used as a pinch hitter.
Thomas Hansen
Svanholm
A former professional with Hampshire, Thomas is Denmark's second left-arm strike bowler and a very useful middle batsman.
Carsten Pedersen
Herning
Right hand opening bat. Very experienced, having spent wintertime abroad. He has now taken over the captaincy of Herning and takes part in coaching young Danish talent.
Søren Kirk
Skanderborg
RHB, OB. His size might deceive the opposition but he hits the ball very hard. Has spent winters in Australia and South Africa and is developing as an off-spin bowler.
Aftab Ahmed
Nørrebro
RHB. 61 caps since 1989 and the most experienced batsman in the squad. A very entertaining batsman with exquisite wristy timing.
Mickey Lund
Svanholm
RHB. Has also spent time in Australia. Very quick between the wickets, although he often gets run out. One of Denmark's best fielders.
Bobby Chawla
Svanholm
Young Bobby is slowly becoming a steady leg-spin bowler who can spin the ball quite heavily. Also a useful tail-end batsman who can hang around for quite a while.
Omar Farooq
Nørrebro
Omar is a newcomer to the Danish squad as the team's slow left arm-spinner and late order batsman.
Mohammad Siddiq
Svanholm
Returns to the squad as a right handed batsman and wicketkeeper. Is at present captain of Svanholm.
Henrik Hansen
Glostrup
Henrik Hansen joins the squad as a fast right-handed opening bowler. Henrik has improved immensely over the past year after a lengthy visit to South Africa that has hardened him to the burden of opening the bowling.
Søren Henriksen
Coach
Has taken over the responsibility of coaching Denmark after Ole Mortensen. He is not a full time coach but his experience of playing for Denmark since 1982, as well as being captain for many years, will be an advantage in gain success at these Championships.
