In the only match to beat the elements First Division Penicuik produced a shock when they defeated Premier title challengers Grange by twenty four runs in a rain affected match
Batting first the Kirkhill side posted a challenging total of 230 for 6 thanks to an unbeaten 131 from Pakistani professional Mohammad Ramzan.
In reply Grange reached 120 for 4 in the twenty sixth over when the match was abandoned due to heavy rain with captain Sanjay Patel unbeaten on 41. This meant that Penicuik won by 24 runs on a faster scoring rate.
Penicuik will enter the quarter-final draw which will be made live on the BBC Radio Scotland Sports Report programme at 12.45 on Tuesday 24 June.
The other second round ties will now be played on Sunday 29 June.
