FOUR members of Waringstown’s Irish Cup final side are unavailable for this week’s title-deciding inter-provincial championship game in Clontarf.

The absence of Adam Dennnison, Gary Kidd, Lee Nelson and Greg Thompson puts a huge dent in Northern Knights’ hopes of denying Leinster Lightning their fifth straight three-day title in what is a must-win game for the NCU side.

Waringstown’s loss is Instonians’ gain as they are replaced by Shane Getkate, who missed the last championship game because of injury and team-mates Robert McKinley and Nikolai Smith. There are still two players from The Lawn with James McCollum being joined by James Mitchell, a deserved first call-up for the in-form opening bowler. The action starts at 10.30am on Tuesday.

Knights: J Shannon (capt), C Dougherty, S Getkate, G McCarter, J McCollum, R McKinley, J Magowan, J Matchett, J Mitchell, J Mulder, Nat Smith, Nik Smith
