The venue for the first match of the Inter-Provincial Championships next week has been moved from Oak Hill to Pembroke.

Following recent poor weather in Wicklow, the ground is not currently ready to host a first-class cricket and, as such, the decision was taken to seek an alternative venue.

The first match will see defending champions Leinster Lightning take on the North-West Warriors.

Many of the players involved in the ongoing Test trial will be playing in the game, including Ireland captain William Porterfield.

Lightning have dominated the longer format winning all five championships since the inter-pros were reintroduced back in 2013.
