JAMES Shannon resumes the captaincy of Northern Knights on Sunday when they take on Leinster Lightning in the latest inter-provincial Cup match at Stormont (10.45am).
Shannon missed the first few games of the season through injury but his Instonians team-mate Shane Getkate stayed as skipper on his return “having formed a good bond with the players”. But, after a three-week break from action, the Ireland international will resume his leadership role.
The Knights team shows three changes from the side that lost by 53 runs in the reverse fixture at The Hills with Adam Dennison, Greg Thompson and Alistair Shields replacing Jacob Mulder, James Cameron-Dow and the injured Nikolai Smith.
The Knights are also start a Championship game against Warriors at Comber on Monday with Phil Eaglestone and John Matchett joining the squad for the first time this season.
