It was honours even at Comber on the first day of the NW Warriors match with the Northern Knights.
The hosts recovered from 13 for 4 and 107 for 7 to post 250, thanks to 116 from James McCollum.
The Waringstown opener survived a huge appeal for a catch behind on 2 and a dropped chance at first slip on 66 - David Scanlon the unfortunate bowler - as he went on to record his second first-class century in the competition.
He shared a fifth wicket stand of 73 with Shane Getkate (38), then 52 for the 8th with Jacob Mulder (22), and most crucially 79 for the 9th with James Cameron-Dow (39*) as Knights picked up three batting points.
Craig Young (3-62) took three wickets, while there were two apiece for David Scanlon (2-65), Stuart Thompson (2-19), and Graham Kennedy (2-31).
The Warriors lost David Barr and Aaron Gillespie cheaply in their reply, but an unbroken third wicket stand of 51 between William Porterfield (31*) and Niall O'Brien (17*) - dropped behind before he had scored - took them to 73 for 2 at the close.
Play resumes at North Down at 11am.
