The curtain comes down on the first-class Championship season as Leinster Lightning take on the Northern Knights at Sydney Parade this week.

There's no Kevin O'Brien in the 12-man squad, and David Delany's hamstring injury also sees him left out.

There's no place either for Jarred Barnes, while Max Sorensen - a surprise inclusion last time out - misses out.

It seems a lifetime ago that Lightning last played in the format - their draw with Warriors at Bready taking place on June 20th.

Since then, Warriors' two wins over the Knights secured the title and ensured nothing but bragging rights are at stake over the next three days.

The Lightning selectors have resisted the temptation to make wholesale changes and skipper George Dockrell is one of nine senior internationals in the squad.

He's joined by Rathmines colleague Gareth Delany who impressed in T20 cricket recently for Ireland Wolves.

Pembroke will have a trio of representatives playing on home soil after the game was switched from Malahide, with Andrew Balbirnie, Josh Little and Lorcan Tucker all named.

Play gets under way each day at 10:30am.
