Ethan Marshall’s century got Leinster’s Under 15 campaign off to a winning start with an emphatic 169-run win over the North West at Seapark.

The Clontarf batsman hit 12 fours and 2 sixes in his 102, sharing stands of 80 for the second wicket with Bill Whaley (35), and 121 for the third with skipper Ollie Riley (50).

Robert O’Brien chipped in with 36 as Leinster finished on 296 – three wickets for TJ Boyd and three run outs stopping them getting over 300.

The North West reply never got out of first gear against the powerful attack as only Matthew Collum (38) passed 20 in their 127 all out.

Arshad Safi took three wickets, and Ireland Under 19 international Reuben Wilson two in a statement win.
