Cricketing Career
Who had the greatest influence on your career? My dad, Steve McCarthy, he introduced me to the game and has encouraged me throughout.
What was your worst cricketing moment? Losing to Sri Lanka in South Africa in 2010
What is your funniest cricketing moment? Holland with Ireland u17's.
Who is your best friend in Irish Cricket and why? I'm lucky to have so many, but probably Shauna Kavanagh, Hannah De Burg Whyte and Laura Delany, were all in and around the same age and go well back.
Irish Cricket
Who is your favourite Irish cricketer (past and present), and why? Past: Barbara Mc Donald, always bowled such good lines and lengths. Present: Clare Shillington, Such a knowledgeable cricketer and such an inspiration to all. Her passion for the game is as strong as ever great person to tour with and play with, maaa!
Which is your favourite Irish cricket ground, and why? Malahide, think its in a lovely place its so open , can't wait for it to have that new ground.
Who is the best young Irish cricketer you have seen in recent times? Julie Van Der Flier, I'm excited to see what she has to offer in the future. Think there's great potential there.
What do you think of overseas professionals in Irish club cricket? Most of them are nice and can influence your cricket greatly. They have had different experiences to us so it's good to hear what they have to say.
What are your main complaints about Irish cricket? Not many. More attention to detail if anything.
How would you set about improving the standard of Irish cricket? Actually do half the things they're always talking about.
How would you set about making Irish cricket more popular? Make it more appealing to the younger ages, more music, colour and fun in matches.

Which was your favourite, and why? India, such an experience. The culture. Learned and improved a lot over the 10 days.
