A captain's innings from Herschel Gutman and a fine bowling display from Eliezer Samson led Israel to a comprehensive 86-run win over Croatia in the eleventh-place play off at Les Quennevais.

Winning the toss and electing to bat, captain Gutman made 51 in 37 balls including five boundaries in his side's total of 172-7 in 20 overs. Josh Evans (21) and Danny Hotz (26) also made significant contributions whilst Shailesh Bangera hit some quick runs down the order (19 off 7 balls), propelling Israel to their highest score of the tournament.

Craig Wear and Nikola Davidovic were the key wicket-takers for Croatia, picking up 3-26 and 3-42 respectively.

In reply Croatia could only muster 86 all out in 17 overs.

They looked to be going strongly at 41-1 but they collapsed to 70-9, Eliezer Samson the main man as he returned 4-7 in 4 overs. The Croatian innings also included four run-outs as Israel put in a sharp performance in the field, eventually winning by a very comfortable 86-run margin.
