Northern Knights Captain Andrew White on His Sides Narrow Defeat

Barry Chambers: Must be disappointing to lose that one?

Andrew White (Northern Knights Captain): Yes, very hard to take, because we had fought so hard to get ourselves into a winning position. And then we had chances to win it, and we didn't take them when we had them. And fair play to Kevin, played an outstanding innings. And I suppose as long as he was there, they always had a chance, you know.

Barry Chambers: I think the Knights maybe surprised a few. I mean they came down here, many people thinking they'd just be cannon fodder, I suppose?

Andrew White: I think, you know the reports that we were getting up North was that the people down South thought that this was going to be a walkover. But a lot of talent, a lot of boys that maybe haven't played a lot of games at full Ireland level, but a lot of talent in the NCU. And I think we've shown that today.

Barry Chambers: Who pleased you in the Knight's side? What performances stood out?

Andrew White: I think overall you know, Lee Nelson batted extremely well and you know, all the bowlers played their part I think. You know the disappointing thing for us that nobody went on and got that big score of 80, 90 or 100.

And you know I suppose that would have probably have seen us home. But I can't fault the guy's efforts. They really worked hard, and put their bodies on the line, and that's all you can ask.
