Leinster Lightning's second one-day RSA inter-provincial of the season dominates the weekend programme with North West Warriors the visitors to Malahide today (10.45am).
Although Lightning coach Trent Johnston will not be involved in a playing role, because of an Achilles injury, the return of John Mooney to representative action is more than ample compensation for the tournament favourites.
Mooney was left out of Ireland's second ODI against Pakistan last Sunday because of his lack of big-match action this season, but he starts his rehabilitation, after a three-match ban for his Thatcher tweet, by coming into a Lightning side which remains unbeaten after the first two games.
It needed an unbroken ninth wicket partnership of 71 to win the first one-day inter-provincial against the Northern Knights at Milverton and Johnston will be demanding a more convincing performance today from a team which includes nine internationals and six of the Ireland A team which has just returned from a rain-ruined three days in Kent.
The team also includes Alex Cusack and Andrew Poynter who, as result, miss today's delayed Senior cup game against Phoenix but they still look strong enough to earn a second round game at home to The Hills.
The final two Irish Cup ties will be played tomorrow at Claremont Road and Park Avenue but Terenure have been thrown out of the competition because they were unable to provide a suitable venue for their game against Donemana.
The game was originally scheduled for May 24 but Terenure were told they were not able to use their artificial pitch - all Irish Cup ties must now be played on grass.
Terenure finally provided a venue, believed to be College Park, for the game tomorrow but opponents Donemana have a league fixture so were unavailable to play the game. With the second round due next Saturday, Cricket Ireland have awarded the game to Donemana.
