League Leaders Northern Knights Confidently Head to Dublin Following Victory at Over North West Warriors

Northern Knights Captain Andrew White was glad to come out on top after a close RSA Three Day Inter-Pro encounter where bowlers dominated. He had praise for James Shannon and Nathan Waller who batted well to get the Knights home, with also a word for the Knights two ex-North West players Phil Eaglestone and Chris Dougherty.

Barry Chambers: Andrew pretty tight in the end, but you got the victory?

Andrew White (Northern Knights Captain): Yeah I think it was one of those games, we knew from day one, that you know it was going to be batting especially that was going to be very difficult. There was a lot of movement both in the air and off the pitch. And both seam attacks bowled extremely well. So it was always going to be a tight encounter. And we're just glad we got over the line there.

Barry Chambers: And James Shannon and Nathan Waller, maybe a wee word about them, they got you home?

Andrew White: Yes, like everybody knows that `Shanners' is going to be a great player in the years to come, and he showed an awful lot of patience, which maybe some of the other batters can learn from. And Nathan Waller came in and played his game, and effectively. It was his quick fire thirty three runs which took the game away from the North West.

Barry Chambers: And two ex-North West players performed well against their old team, Phil Eaglestone bowled very well and Chris Dougherty kept very well and scored a few runs?

Andrew White: Certainly, I think he's come down to Waringstown and had a great start to the season. He's enjoyed his move and that's the best I've seen him bowl in a long time, you know, he swung the ball and got movement again off the pitch, he was a real handful.

And Chris Dougherty continues to play well in the longer format of the game. And it is great to have them onboard.

Barry Chambers: And a big challenge for the Northern Knights now, you go down to College Park to take on probably everyone's favourites Leinster?

Andrew White: Yes, as you say everyone's favourites, but we're the only team with a win at the minute. So we will be going down there with a lot of confidence.

They're obviously a very good side with a lot of experience. And from that point of view it will be a great test for us, and one we will be looking forward to now with a win under our belts.
