Leinster Lightning completed dominated the Northern Knights on the first day of their 3 day-day RSA Championship clash at College Park Dublin.
Two late wickets by Eddie Richardson (2-10) left the Knights reeling on 20 for 2 as they chased down an imposing first innings total of 364 by Leinster.
The wickets to fall were those of Irish internationals James Shannon trapped lbw for 0, and Andrew White, caught at first slip by John Anderson from the last ball of the day.
It could have been even worse for the Northern side, as Collins at second slip had spilled Chris Dougherty (13*) off the bowling of John Mooney just three balls before.
Early wickets for Phil Eaglestone (4-93) had reduced Leinster to a precarious 74 for 4 just before lunch, but a 5th wicket stand of exactly 100 in 119 balls between skipper Kevin O'Brien and John Anderson (86) put Leinster back on track.
Stuart Poynter impressed with a stylish 54, and the Knights heads really went down when Eddie Richardson (42) and Max Sorensen (27*) put on 60 for the last wicket for a final total of 364 all out.
The first target tomorrow for the Knights will be to avoid the follow-on target of 215, which could be crucial if they are to avoid defeat.
