LEINSTER Lightning collected the first of their three targeted RSA Interprovincial trophies here last evening with a clinical demolition of the North West Warriors.

The 106 run margin truly reflected their dominance and secured the T20 title for Kevin O'Brien's men.
Max Sorensen took the man of the match - and the RSA series - awards after top-scoring with 38 and taking 2-17.

Merrion's Tyrone Kane also claimed 3-16 in four tidy overs but the Warriors were never in the game.

Leinster's total of 192-5 was far in excess of what the hosts could have expected to chase. Especially having been bowled out for 78 in Dublin last month.

Lightning batsmen feasted on the bowling, smashing eight sixes on the biggest ground in the north-west.

Half those maximums were bludgeoned by skipper Kevin O'Brien in a ruthless display at the end of the innings in which he faced just 14 balls for his unbeaten 36.

Reinhardt Strydom too faced only 14 balls in making 35.

Sorensen was out bowled by Craig Young, the local lad who has been injury-plagued for the past three years while at Sussex.
