Scotland's excellent pre-tournament form continued as their batsmen went on the rampage to record a mammoth 142 run win over Canterbury Country.

The top four Scotland batsmen scored half centuries as they scored an imposing 367 for 6 in their 50 overs.

An opening partnership of 162 between Calum MacLeod (82) and skipper Kyle Coetzer (80) set them on their way.

Matt Machan then blasted 64 from just 42 balls, while Freddie Coleman hit 53 from just 41 deliveries. There were also fine cameos from Richie Berrington (30) and Rob Taylor (18).

In reply the hosts were never in the hunt as they finished well adrift on 225 all out.

There were two wickets apiece for Rob Taylor, Majid Haq and Gordon Goudie, while Gordon Drummond and Matt Machan claimed one each.

Scotland are next in action on Friday and Saturday when they face Papua New Guinea and Namibia in the official warm-up games.
