Fraser Burnett hit 168, the highest score by an Arbroath player at Lochlands for many a year as they defeated Stoneywood-Dyce in a high scoring Scottish Cup tie.
Arbroath had won the toss and decided to bat first and like Saturday found themselves in some difficulty crashing to 41 for 3 before Greig Peal joined Burnett at the crease.
Both batsmen had been in fine touch on Saturday when they rescued the home side against Heriot's in the league, and their confidence showed as they set about the recovery.
No one could have predicted that by the end of the innings the home side would finish on 307 for 7 with Burnett contributing 168. His innings had come from 138 balls and included 13 fours and 7 sixes,
Arbroath United statistician advises that this is the highest scored by an Arbroath player at Lochlands passing Kevin Ritchie's 164 v St. Modans on 17 June 1995.
Since 'Chis' started scoring he says that it is the third highest score by an Arbroath player either home or away with the record of 180 held by Fraser's uncle Neil Burnett who made 180 against Perthshire at the North Inch in 1990.
Facing a daunting total Stoneywood- Dyce minus their captain Michael Leask, on Pro Series duty for the Highlanders, fell 57 runs short with Henk Conradie hitting a century and Elton Willemse 61.
Runs were also flowing at Uddingston where the home side amassed 405 for 9 against Weirs with Sameer Zia top scoring with 95. Weirs could only muster 169 in reply as Aamir Gul with 4 for 26 and Scott McKenzie 3 for 40 did the damage with the ball.
West Lothian were shot out for 72 at Boghall by Aberdeenshire with Calum Howard taking 3 for 20. Howard then made 32 not out as the Dons got home for the loss of two wickets.
Dumfries minus a few players on Pro Series duty must have thought they were on the road to victory at Shawholm when they restricted the home side to 77. Alan Davidson with 6 for 21 doing the damage with the ball.
However they could only make 55 in reply as Hamid Mahmood and overseas amateur Pierce Fletcher captured three wickets apiece.
Ayr were brought back to earth after their league win against Uddingston when they went down by 99 runs at Meikleriggs.
Ian Warden, with 62 not out, top scored for Ferguslie in their 157, and then Hamza Tahir with 5 for 10 saw Ayr collapse to 58.
The match at Glenpark between Greenock and Carlton again fell to the rain, while Kelburne beat West of Scotland and Watsonians saw off the challenge of Dundee HSFP.
The revised draw is
Forfarshire v Grange
Greenock or Carlton v SMRH
Falkland v Arbroath United
Kelburne v East Kilbride
Watsonians v Poloc
Clydesdale v Renfrew
Ferguslie v Uddingston
Aberdeenshire v Stirling County
Ties to be played on Sunday 1 June (reserve date 15 June)
