A STUNNING spell of hostile bowling by John Mooney has put Leinster Lightning in a strong position to beat North West Warriors today.
The Lightning skipper took four wickets in seven overs last night as the heart was ripped out of the Warriors' reply.
With the home side on top in mid-afternoon, the game was turned by a record 10th wicket partnership of 92.
Max Sorensen was dropped first ball by Jonny Thompson at slip and he and Finto McAllister (48no) were not dismissed until Sorensen had made 42.
With the score on 127-9, a potential deficit of 49 was turned into a lead of 43 and the Leinster attack rammed their advantage home.
The Warriors were rocking last night on 20-5 after losing South African Ernest Kemm to the last ball of the day – when the batting heroes McAllister and Sorensen teamed up once again.
