It was in truth a very disappointing campaign for the Belmont Road side despite starting very promisingly.
CIYMS finished in joint 5th position in the Premier League alongside Lisburn, winning 6 and losing 8 of their 14 league matches.
They didn't having a great time in the various cup competitions, losing heavily to Waringstown by 8 wickets in the Senior Cup, while bowing out to Coleraine in the first round of the Irish Senior Cup.
They fared better in the Ulster Cup, with good wins against Strabane and CSN before losing the semi final against eventual winners Bready in the dreaded bowl-out.
The club used 22 players - about average - but the fact that 10 players played 12 or more games suggests a fairly settled side.
Their professional Rassie van der Dussen finished second in the total run aggregates in the NCU - his 856 runs bettered only by Craig Ervine.
Van der Dussen did top the averages though with a whopping 85.60, helped by five fifties and two centuries - including a mammoth unbeaten 190.
Chris Dougherty with 492 at 28.94 and Nathan Waller 461 at 41.91 were the other players to make the NCU top 20, but you get the feeling that both could and should have scored heavier given their calibre.
Both scored 3 fifties out of the clubs 16 in total - Waller also scoring one of their 3 centuries, with Van der Dussen making the other two.
Jeremy Bray came in as a late replacement when Van Der Dussen left early, and performed consistently making 289 runs at 48.17, including four half centuries.
Other batters worthy of mention are John Matchett (199 at 15.31), Trevor Britton (194 at 17.64) and Stevie Clarke (187 at 23.38).
CIYMS also had three bowlers in the NCU top 20, but they lacked the depth necessary to propel them to trophy success.
Left-armer Stevie Dunn took 29 wickets at just 18.97, while leg-spinner Jacob Mulder showed genuine promise of a bright future by taking 26 wickets at 22.73.
Van Der Dussen showed his all-round abilities with 22 victims at 20.41. Trevor 'Ted' Britton managed 20 at 26.20 with the next best being Stephen Hughes with 12 at 29.17.
On the fielding front wicket-keeper Chris Dougherty was second in the NCU with 29 dismissals only behind Corin Goodall of CSN, while Nathan Waller's big paws saw him grab 12 catches - good enough for joint 5th spot.
There's no doubt that CIYMS have invested heavily both on and off the field and their youth structures are starting to bear fruit.
The club has the resources to be challenging for trophies in 2015 which may be needed for yet another few seasons until their youngsters are ready for senior cricket.
They are very much a club at the crossroads.
